01.03.19 | BFC Holiday Celebrations Include Multiple Volunteer and Charity Events

At years’ end, BFC and its employees logged several volunteer hours and donated significant dollars to several local charities and events. Highlights included…

• Mooseheart Holiday Lights 5k Race
Employees, spouses and their children competed in the charity 5k run/walk on a brisk November 17th evening.

• Santa’s Night Crew at Mooseheart
Employees and spouses supported family activities as part of the Mooseheart Holiday Lights Festival.

• BFC Giving Tree
Several employees and the company provided children and family gift donations to the Batavia United Way Adopt a Family program and household items for the InterFaith Food Pantry.

• Dawn Palicka Memorial
In 2018, BFC employee Dawn Palicka lost her battle with cancer. Her positive attitude throughout her struggle made a deep impact on her coworkers. After her passing, employees organized a fundraiser in her memory through the sale of commemorative
t-shirts. The group donated $510 in proceeds along with a check from the company for $400 to the Northwestern Medicine/Delnor Hospital Cancer Center in Dawn’s memory.

• BFC Holiday Decorating Contest
Five departments competed by decorating their work spaces – prizes awarded included Best of Show, Most Nostalgic, Most Personable and Most Electrifying. The Technology Team’s interactive Santa’s Workshop display took home the Best of Show honor.
