United Health Care

Situation –
National Healthcare Company with approximately 25,000,000 customers prints and fulfills customer requests for program information. In 2004, over 500 orders were placed for the printing and mailing of program information. The tracking of these completed and mailed orders is critical to the success of the program. Since orders were placed with a variety of vendors, tracking proved difficult and became a time consuming process. In addition, neither vendor had the ability to automate the management of the company’s inventory. The company needed the ability to track orders, view real-time inventory, receive usage reports, and maintain print quality across all products.

Challenge –
Find a company that could help consolidate the printing, fulfillment, distribution, inventory management, and mailing services of their product.

BFC Response –
BFC implemented a program that integrated the printing and distribution of the product under one roof. We also, integrated a real-time online inventory management system that allows the customer access to inventory 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Among other things, the inventory system allows the customer to view inventory levels, establish re-order levels, and value the inventory and track orders.

Customer Response –
BFC’s ability to print and mail out of one location helped reduce total time to customer by 50% and completely eliminated production errors associated with using multiple vendors for one order. It also helped maintain a more consistent print quality across a wide variety of branded products. In addition, the proper management of inventory has eliminated the past experience of not having enough inventory to fill orders, allowed orders to be filled more accurately and on time, made tracking of orders straightforward, and helped keep their printing budget in line.

“By monitoring the pulse of the industry BFC is ensuring that our clients benefit from the latest and most effective technologies. Our Goal is to make print management simple and cost effective.”
